5 Ski Wipeouts That Made Me Say “Oh S**t!” Out Loud
There are plenty of ski crash compilations out there, but I usually find them repetitive and annoying. The wipeouts all start blending together, every flipping skier forgotten as they are quickly replaced with yet another flipping skier. Not to mention the overly dramatic, speed-metal soundtrack usually employed to pimp out the wipeouts. The following crashes are pure, and are brutal enough to stand on their own without the frills of fast music and fancy editing, and will be sure to make you want to try to ski all over again.
I left out a few myself due to their graphic nature and out of respect to the fallen skiers (but if you have a strong stomach you could look up Matthias Lanzinger, whose terrible fall resulted in a leg amputation). As far as I know the skiers in these videos suffered nothing more than broken bones and broken prides.
Easily my favorite. Someone should write a paper: Why Slow Motion make Things Funnier
The next dude must have incredible healing powers because he managed to survive this unbelievable wipeout.
This one looks like it’s going to be boring, but quickly becomes “Oh S**t!” worthy.
This one isn’t really a wipeout, but the sympathy pains I felt earned it a spot on the list.
Monsieur!
Skiing comes with risks, as does any sport. But these clips aren’t meant to scare anyone from hitting the slopes, and, in fact, it’s foolish to even mention this because when you love to ski, nothing will keep you from your favorite mountain. We’ve all wiped out at one point or another, and if we’re serious about the sport (and were not too seriously injured) we learned from our mistakes and became better and stronger, the way the skiers in these videos did. If you fall don’t just go back to the chalet to sulk, get back on that horse and start breaking bones in no time.
