Tremblant Ski Rental

Dec 12th, 2007 by James Fraser | 0

If you plan to ski in the Mont Tremblant region as a beginner, it’s a good idea to look into rentals services before you buy (potentially expensive) equipment – especially if you’re not going to spend a lot of time on the slopes. Renting is always a good option for new skiers, giving an opportunity to get used to different kinds of skis before committing to a perfect purchased pair.

Mont Tremblant ski rental advantages

  • trying out different ski lengths, depending of you’re weight and ability
  • often ski rentals are included in lessons package to get you started as quick as possible
  • most rental packages include all the stuff you need (boot, poles and skis)

The person working behind the ski rentals counter should let you know why they’re choosing particular skis for you, so you can make a better-informed decision for next time. Here are some tips to consider, for a bit of an equipment inside edge.

  • the longer the skis are, the faster you can go, but the more ability you’ll need to keep control
  • check the bottom of the skis to be sure they are not too scratched up
  • be sure to check if the blades are nice and sharp to get a good grip on the snow

Other, general tips before your first time skiing

  • Expect to fall a few times, and expect a sore bottom the next day!
  • Bring a warm winter jacket, warm gloves, warm underwear and a some goggles, if possible.
  • Start on the most beginner trails, and stay until you’re 100% certain you’re ready to move on.
