Congratulations to Mont-Tremblant skier ERIK GUAY

Erik Guay, local skier from Mont-Tremblant, beame the World Champion of Downhill Skiiing last week, in Germany. Guay, 29, has been skiing and training hard to win this title and we are really proud of him. Despite severe back injuries, he kept his goal in mind, and surpassed every skier on the slope. Tremblant gets $510,000 investment from Feds for Summer Festival

A $510,000 investement by the Federal governement has given to support the Festival d’ete de Tremblant.

Organizers say that the funding will be used to improve marketing and programming for the Tremblant summer festival.

The annual Festival d’ete de Tremblant offers free cultural activities for tourists and area residents from July to September. Programming involves over 400 shows by more than 700 artists and entertainers as well as various workshops and parades.

Mont Tremblant Airport Expansion

Mont- Tremblant International Airport is positioning itself to better serve the increasing visitor traffic coming to Tremblant (and Laurentian region) with a $4.5-million expansion – according to an article in the Montreal Gazette on July 7th, 2008.

Federal/provincial governments announced Tuesday of this week that they will provide $3.7 million of the funding.
